The main motorways around Manchester
The M60 links journeys around Greater Manchester, with routes connecting toward the M62, M56, M602, M67, M61 and M66. A breakdown near an interchange needs an exact road number and direction, rather than only the name of the town you were heading towards.
These pages focus on the Manchester approaches and nearby parts of each route. Availability is checked for your actual stopping location, vehicle and destination. A page for a road does not promise a fixed response time along its entire length.
Location information that helps us assess the request
When safe to use your phone, send your road number, direction, nearest junction or visible driver-location sign and whether you are in a service area, emergency area or another stopping place. Do not walk along the motorway to find a sign. The quote form also offers optional current-location sharing.
For recovery transport, provide the vehicle make and model, condition, passengers and the full drop-off address or postcode. We confirm a suitable truck, price and estimated arrival before booking.
Emergency help comes first
If you cannot reach a place of relative safety and cannot leave the vehicle safely, keep your seat belt and hazard lights on and call 999 immediately for the police. Follow the Highway Code and any police or National Highways instructions before arranging private recovery.
Do not attempt motorway repairs or place a warning triangle on a motorway. The official breakdown guidance and live travel links below provide information from the road authorities.
